Assim, o valor da ind\u00fastria de siri-mole \u00e9 diretamente dependente da taxa de mortalidade dos <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">peelers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">De acordo com Chaves e Eggleston (2003) em sistemas de cultivo de siri-mole, os siris geralmente sofrem taxas de mortalidade de 25% ou mais, essa taxa tem sido atribu\u00edda \u00e0 m\u00e1 qualidade da \u00e1gua (Lakshmi, 1984; Hochheimer, 1988), ao estresse de coleta e transporte (Chaves e Eggleston, 2003) e a doen\u00e7as e parasitas (Kennedy e Cronin, 2007). Entretanto, mais recentemente foi descoberto um v\u00edrus espec\u00edfico de siri que foi fortemente associado com a maioria dos eventos de mortalidade de siris em sistemas de cultivo (Bowers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2011; Chung<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2015).<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Este v\u00edrus, originalmente foi descoberto por microscopia eletr\u00f4nica e chamado reo-like v\u00edrus (tamb\u00e9m chamado de RLV ou CsRV), pertence a fam\u00edlia Reoviridae, possui uma forma icosa\u00e9drica associada a uma c\u00e1pside de dupla camada, se replica no citoplasma das c\u00e9lulas infectadas, mede entre 60 e 80 nm de di\u00e2metro e cont\u00eam um genoma que consiste em 10 a 13 segmentos de dsRNA (Tang<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2011). O v\u00edrus infecta os hem\u00f3citos, os tecidos hemopoi\u00e9ticos e conjuntivos e causa patologia de tecidos em associa\u00e7\u00e3o com a infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o de hem\u00f3citos (Figura 1) e podem tamb\u00e9m ocasionar necroses (Figura 2).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1653\" src=\"https:\/\/gia.org.br\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Figura-1.png\" alt=\"Figura 1\" width=\"748\" height=\"285\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.2; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 10pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Figura 1. Em infec\u00e7\u00f5es laboratoriais de juvenis de <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">C. sapidus<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, este v\u00edrus resultou em 100% de mortalidade entre uma a tr\u00eas semanas ap\u00f3s a inje\u00e7\u00e3o do v\u00edrus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">O mesmo v\u00edrus tamb\u00e9m foi registrado em sistemas de cultivo do siri-da-lama <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Scylla serrata<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> na China, reo-like v\u00edrus atingiu graves n\u00edveis de epidemia e causou taxas de mortalidade superior a 90% (Chen<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2011)<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Pesquisas mais recentes revelaram que o v\u00edrus est\u00e1 presente em uma m\u00e9dia de 20% dos siris desde Massachusetts at\u00e9 o Brasil (Flowers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2016), e que o RLV \u00e9 mais patog\u00eanico em temperaturas elevadas. Em um estudo controlado usando siris <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">Callinectes sapidus<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> de idade e condi\u00e7\u00e3o id\u00eanticas, infec\u00e7\u00f5es experimentais mataram os siris mais em temperaturas de 29\u00b0C do que em 22\u00b0 C (Chung<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> et al.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">, 2015). Isso sugere que quando os siris com infec\u00e7\u00f5es naturalmente adquiridas s\u00e3o mantidos em sistemas de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de siri-mole sob temperaturas elevadas morrem mais rapidamente do que aqueles mantidos em \u00e1gua mais fria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">A mortalidade de <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">peelers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> causa uma perda de tempo e dinheiro investidos na produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Se calcularmos que nos \u00faltimos 10 anos a pesca de <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">peelers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> nos Estados Unidos gerou um valor m\u00e9dio anual de US$ 12 milh\u00f5es (dados NOAA, NMFS), e a metade da mortalidade nos sistemas de cultivo est\u00e1 associada ao v\u00edrus reo-like, a perda anual ser\u00e1 de US$ 6 milh\u00f5es. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-indent: 35.45pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">A descoberta de um v\u00edrus que causa mortalidade em <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; font-style: italic; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">peelers<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\"> e siris-moles quando cultivados em temperatura acima de 29 \u00b0C refor\u00e7a a necessidade de se controlar as vari\u00e1veis de qualidade da \u00e1gua, principalmente a temperatura.
