Entre eles destacam esp\u00e9cies de Branchiura (Thorell, 1818); Copepoda (Milne-Edwards, 1940); e Isopoda (Latreille, 1871). Na Am\u00e9rica do Sul, existem cerca de 744 esp\u00e9cies de cop\u00e9podes, 187 esp\u00e9cies de is\u00f3podes e 133 esp\u00e9cies de branquiurianos que parasitam peixes marinhos e de \u00e1gua doce (Luque e Poulin, 2007). Esta regi\u00e3o inclui a bacia do rio Amazonas, que \u00e9 uma das mais extensas bacias hidrogr\u00e1ficas do mundo, ocupando 40,2% da Am\u00e9rica do Sul e abrangendo parcialmente os territ\u00f3rios de oito pa\u00edses e grandes sistemas h\u00eddricos com grande import\u00e2ncia biogen\u00e9tica, construindo para o setor econ\u00f4mico, social e ambiental (Eler e Millani, 2007).<\/p><p>A piscicultura na regi\u00e3o Norte \u00e9 caracterizada pelo cultivo principalmente de esp\u00e9cies nativas como tambaqui (<em>Colossoma macropomum<\/em>), pintado (<em>Psedudoplatistoma<\/em> <em>spp.<\/em>) e pirarucu (<em>Arapaima gigas<\/em>) (Borges<em> et al.<\/em>, 2015). Na produ\u00e7\u00e3o destas esp\u00e9cies s\u00e3o utilizados diversos regimes de produ\u00e7\u00e3o, como o extensivo, intensivo e superintensivo. Os sistemas com altas densidades de peixes, acabam favorecendo o aparecimento de doen\u00e7as e parasitos. Isso \u00e9 relatado em cultivos que n\u00e3o realizam manejos profil\u00e1ticos adequados (Daskalov e Georgiev, 2001; Godoi<em> et al.<\/em>, 2012; Tavares-Dias<em> et al.<\/em>, 2015; Furtado<em> et al.<\/em>, 2021). Uma esp\u00e9cie parasitando tambaqui \u00e9 relatada frequentemente causando diversos problemas em pisciculturas amaz\u00f4nicas. A <em>Perulernaea gamitanae<\/em> (Thatcher e Paredes, 1985) foi descrita no rio Amazonas no Peru, e logo foi identificado causando problema no Brasil (Benetton e Malta, 1999; Thatcher, 2006; Delgado<em> et al.<\/em>, 2011). Esta esp\u00e9cie causa lernaeose, uma doen\u00e7a que pode levar a efeitos patog\u00eanicos graves em seus hospedeiros (Lester e Hayward, 2006). Os copepoditos (formas jovens), podem causar ruptura e necrose no epit\u00e9lio das br\u00e2nquias dos peixes, e a fixa\u00e7\u00e3o em f\u00eameas adultas geralmente resultam em hemorragia, necrose muscular e uma intensa resposta inflamat\u00f3ria, que \u00e0s vezes est\u00e1 associada a infec\u00e7\u00f5es bacterianas secund\u00e1rias (Benetton e Malta, 1999;
