Atividades de manejo como identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de matrizes, inje\u00e7\u00e3o de horm\u00f4nios para reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o, obten\u00e7\u00e3o de sangue e tecidos para an\u00e1lises laboratoriais, vacina\u00e7\u00e3o, transporte e biometria podem resultar em imunossupress\u00e3o, inj\u00farias f\u00edsicas e at\u00e9 mesmo em morte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.4pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Com o prop\u00f3sito de otimizar o manejo sem que fatores de estresse e danos \u00e0 integridade f\u00edsica dos peixes representem um ponto negativo no processo produtivo, o uso de anest\u00e9sicos tem se tornado uma pr\u00e1tica de rotina em locais onde a manipula\u00e7\u00e3o direta dos animais \u00e9 necess\u00e1ria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.4pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Entre os produtos sint\u00e9ticos mais utilizados na anestesia de peixes no Brasil, est\u00e3o o MS-222, a benzoca\u00edna e o 2-fenoxietanol. Produtos naturais, derivados de plantas como os \u00f3leos essenciais de cravo e menta caracterizam-se como uma alternativa vi\u00e1vel em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a dificuldade de obten\u00e7\u00e3o e o valor dos anest\u00e9sicos sint\u00e9ticos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0cm 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 12.4pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A anestesia em peixes geralmente \u00e9 realizada por imers\u00e3o, ou seja, o composto anest\u00e9sico \u00e9 adicionado na \u00e1gua. Os animais passam ent\u00e3o por uma sequ\u00eancia de est\u00e1gios anest\u00e9sicos que est\u00e3o associados a mudan\u00e7as comportamentais, iniciando-se com a perda de rea\u00e7\u00e3o a est\u00edmulos externos at\u00e9 a redu\u00e7\u00e3o parcial ou total dos movimentos operculares. O est\u00e1gio normalmente utilizado para o manejo adequado dos peixes \u00e9 a anestesia cir\u00fargica (est\u00e1gio IV) e para o transporte, seria ideal a obten\u00e7\u00e3o da anestesia profunda (est\u00e1gio III).
